How to attract new customers

I have been interested in one question lately.

It's no secret that the market of marketing services (events, PR, advertising, branding, BTL, etc.) has not shrunk much, all the most honest admit that there is a decline in sales and think what to do about it. And here there are possible options.

It is clear that existing Customers need to be loved and licked until their mouths are completely dry. But, this is not possible in all businesses, the events that I am engaged in are short sales, the next time a Client may need our services in a year, or may never arise, regardless of the budget (well, for example, a plant has been opened, and that's it, the next plant will be opened in India in a year 2 years). So regardless of the existing Customers, the issue of attracting new ones is relevant.

The meaning of the image is that to get 10 contracts with Clients, you need to process, say, 100 contacts. And then there will be a result.

But now there is a crisis and the sales funnel should become like this:

The meaning of this new original image is that in order to receive the same 10 contracts in the new conditions, 1000 contacts already need to be processed.

Hm. But you can't hire 100 salespeople instead of 10, they will need to be fed somehow with 10 contracts, they need to be planted in the office, they need to be managed in the end. In general, it is unrealistic. What to do?

The recipe of the consultant and business coach was that you need to migrate from individual sales methods to mass sales, use ATL tools, use cheaper sellers (on the phone) who can provide this shaft of contacts. Well, to act in an original way (yeah).

I didn't want to argue, but I thought to myself that it's true that many people are just trying to make more fuss for less money. So, we can say that this is a strategy.

For my part, it seems to me that we need to act differently. If you stay in the same coordinate system and talk about the sales funnel, then it should become more like this:

That is, we can no longer afford to spend so much time getting 10 contracts. After all, those 90 contacts are actually a marriage. Now you need to concentrate and strive to get every Customer who has contacted you.

Attracting new customers is a key aspect of growing a business. Here are some strategies that can help attract new customers:

  1. Offer a Unique Value Proposition: Offer a unique value proposition that sets your business apart from your competitors. This could be a unique product or service, a different approach to customer service, or a focus on a specific target market.

  2. Leverage Digital Marketing: Use digital marketing channels such as search engine optimization (SEO), social media, email marketing, and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising to reach your target audience.

  3. Network and Collaborate: Network with other businesses in your industry and consider collaborating with them to reach new customers.

  4. Encourage Word-of-Mouth: Encourage satisfied customers to share their experiences with others through word-of-mouth referrals and online reviews.

  5. Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to not only retain existing customers but also attract new ones through positive referrals and recommendations.

  6. Participate in Local Events and Communities: Participate in local events and communities to build brand awareness and reach new customers.

  7. Offer Promotions and Discounts: Offer promotions and discounts to attract new customers and encourage them to try your products or services.

  8. Utilize Content Marketing: Utilize content marketing to educate and inform your target audience about your products or services.

  9. Focus on User Experience: Focus on improving the user experience on your website and other customer touchpoints to attract and retain customers.

These strategies can help you attract new customers and grow your business. However, it's important to find what works best for your specific business and target audience.
