EFFICIENCY IS SIMPLE

Efficiency is a very, very simple thing. Let me give you an example.

I was on vacation. Where we ended up on a small boat to go to a neighboring island and take a walk around the medieval city.

A boat for 25-30 people. In good condition, clean.

The captain was hovering near the boat: a relaxed, cheerful, tanned man of about 50.

He joked, invited people to sit down quickly and talked with passengers and passers-by.

The seats filled up and the captain... himself pushed his Queen Mary away from the pier, easily jumped at the helm and directed it to the desired island.

On the spot, he himself jumped onto the pier, pulled the boat and helped all the passengers get down.

On the way back, I learned that he himself was completely involved in the technical maintenance of the ship, cleaning it, repairing it, and providing winter quarters.

All one person. Everything is easy. All with a constant smile.

It's easy to imagine a team of 5-6 people doing the same thing.

At the same time, get tired, swear, build communications between departments and set strategic goals...

I see these companies all the time where the work of 1 person is done by 5. Where the work of 10 is done by 100. And they argue and set strategic goals.

And they also hire other boats to do team building for themselves.

This is efficiency.

P.S. On the way back, we unexpectedly saw the captain in front of us, who began a casual conversation while walking between the passengers.

It turned out that one of the passengers was a former sailor. He was allowed to take the helm while the captain rested and communicated with his clients :)
