In philosophy there are several questions that are “main”. Almost all of them are purely speculative (you can confidently live without knowing the answers), which does not prevent some people from believing that searching for answers to them is the most worthy activity for a free person.
One of these issues is proof of reality. Namely: how can we prove that the reality around us is really reality, and not, say, a dream, a computer program or another form of deception of the senses. Recently, another one has been added to the list of evidence of reality. These are social networks and the Internet in general.
If a person ran a marathon, then the proof of this is “absolutely” a post on social networks. Time, photograph, medal. If a person went to the beaches of Cuba, then proof of the reality of this trip will be a photograph of a foggy glass or even a sunset.
The mirror reality of social networks turns out to be very important in the structure of our world - it supports this world.
It is no secret that some people can use this tool in the reverse order: social networks create a certain image of reality, attribute to reality something that was not there or very little was there. Let's say there was Cuba, but everyone had a fight and there was a typhoon there all week.
In the world of marketing, we see exactly the same story. A good half of the marketing cases that win popular international competitions are projects created specifically for the competitions.
A video or photo report following the event is proof that the event took place. And very often they say nothing about what it was like, whether the participants were satisfied, what tasks were set and how they were solved.
As a result, we live in a world of beautiful evidence of reality, which sometimes successfully hides this reality. We look at Russian and international cases without knowing what people saw and felt inside the event, or whether the participants took the actions that the organizer needed.
Two conclusions can be drawn:
- The mirror world has become so powerful that we need to do two projects: one in the real world, the second in the virtual one;
- When entertaining yourself by watching cases, you need to remember that this wonderful video may have a conditional relationship to what happened in reality.
